11U - 14U players have two program options:

  • Gold Program = Developmental
  • Blue Program = Competitive

** Starting 2026/27:  If your player was born between August 1, 2011 - July 31, 2012 AND will be in 8th grade, please contact Regent about your options.

Any player entering high school must play in the High School program.


Program Fees

TEAM OVERVIEW:

  • All 11U-HS teams play in the MAYSA League
  • 11U-14U Blue Teams
  • All teams are formed by birthdate using the Seasonal Year (Aug. 1 – July 31) AND a Tryout
  • Practice twice per week with a paid, licensed coach
  • Participate in 1-2 tournaments per season
  • Typically participate in winter activities
  • High School

  • No in-person tryout (player's sign up to indicate interest)
  • HS Girls: play with Regent (club) during the Fall season only

Competitive 11U-19U Program Timeline

11U-14U Tryout Registration Opens |  FEBRUARY – JUNE

  • All 11U-14U players must register for Tryouts
  • Players will indicate Team Placement Preference: Tryout for a Blue team OR Play on a Gold team
  • Note: If we don't have enough players to form a Gold team, players will be contacted with options.
  • Registration Deadline: 24 hrs before 1st Night of Each Age Group's tryout


HS Girls Sign Up Opens |  MAY – JUNE

  • Players sign up to indicate interest
  • Registration Deadline: June 28


11U-14U Blue Tryouts  |  FIRST 2 WEEKS IN JUNE

  • Each age group has 2 nights of tryouts

  • 9U & 10U players do not have to tryout for 9U or 10U teams


Team Formation |  MID JUNE – JULY

  • 11U-14U: Blue & Gold team invites are sent to complete registration & payment (after tryouts have concluded)
  • HS Girls: team invites are sent to complete registration & payment
  • Uniform Ordering begins (9U+)


Fall Season |  LATE AUGUST – OCTOBER

  • Note: HS Girls play with Regent during the Fall season only
  • Games and practices begin
  • Spring waitlist opens; if spots are available, waitlisted players will be contacted starting in November

HS Boys Sign Up Opens | OCTOBER – NOVEMBER

  • Players sign up to indicate interest
  • Registration Deadline: November 28


Winter / Off-Season |  NOVEMBER – APRIL

  • Regent Futsal events and other winter leagues available (typically for 8U+)
  • Note: Winter programming is separate from regular Regent programming & optional when available


Spring Registration |  DECEMBER – JANUARY

  • 11U–14U: Invite-only & based on availability
  • HS Boys: team invites are sent to complete registration & payment
  • Uniform Ordering for HS Boys begins
  • Note: Tryout registration opens again in February for the next playing year


Spring Season |  APRIL – EARLY JUNE

  • Note: HS Boys play with Regent during the Spring season only
  • Games and practices begin

Upcoming Age Group Changes for 2026-2027

U.S. Youth Soccer, the governing body for Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA), Madison Area Youth Soccer Association (MAYSA), and Regent SC, will switch to using seasonal years to determine age groups starting in the 2026-2027 Playing Year.

  • In-House Program: 5U-8U

    Quick Overview:


    🔹Age groups are determined by birthdate using the Seasonal Year (Aug. 1 – July 31), which aligns more closely with grade level.


    🔹Teams are formed using a combination of birthdate, grade, and player requests.


    🔹Team options may include co-ed and all-girls teams, depending on registration numbers and availability. If there are enough all-girls teams, an all-girls division will be formed.


    🔹Teams play in our In-House League against other Regent and Shorewood teams.


    🔹Teams typically practice once per week and are coached and managed by parent volunteers.

  • 9U & 10U Program Options

    At the 9U & 10U age groups, team options may include co-ed and all-girls teams.

    Families can choose between two program options based on their player’s interests, commitment level, and developmental goals.


    9U/10U Alliance

    • Teams play in the Alliance League against Shorewood, Middleton United, and other Regent teams.
    • Teams typically practice 1-2 times per week.
    • Teams are coached and managed by parent volunteers.
    • This program is considered Recreational.

    9U/10U MAYSA

    • Teams play in the MAYSA league against clubs throughout the Madison area and surrounding communities.
    • Teams typically practice twice per week: once with a licensed (paid) trainer, and once with a parent volunteer coach
    • This program is considered both Developmental and Recreational.

  • 11U-14U Program Options

    At the 11U–14U age groups, families can choose between two program options based on their player’s commitment level, developmental goals, and interest in competitive play.


    Both programs play in the MAYSA league against clubs throughout the Madison area and surrounding communities - some travel for games should be expected. 



    11U–14U Gold

    • No tryout is required for this program**.
    • Teams typically practice twice per week: once with a licensed (paid) trainer, and once with a parent volunteer coach
    • Expected fees include Registration, Trainers, Referees, and Uniforms.
    • ournament participation is optional and determined at the team level (additional costs may apply).
    • This program is considered both Developmental and Recreational.

    ** Note: if numbers don't support forming a Gold team, players may be asked to attend a tryout for team placement.


    11U–14U Blue

    • Players must attend tryouts to be considered for this program.
    • Teams typically practice twice per week with a paid coach.
    • Teams typically participate in 1–2 tournaments per season.
    • Expected fees include Registration, Coaching, Referees, Tournaments, and Uniforms.
    • This program is considered Competitive.

  • High School Program

    High School teams are either all-girls, or all-boys. 


    High School club teams play during the opposite season from their school's season: 


    Girls play in the Fall; Boys play in the Spring.


    Teams are not formed using an in-person tryout - players must sign up in PlayMetrics to indicate their interest first, offers and registration occur separately.


    Teams are two-sport and other activity friendly, have a paid coach, and will play in the MAYSA League against teams up to an hour away.

The fees listed below are for the 2025-26 Playing Year (Fall & Spring seasons).

    Spring 2025-only registration will open in December 2024 for 6U, 7U, & 8U players.


    Spots are filled on a first come, first served basis.


    It is possible that new teams will be formed for the Spring 2025 season.


    Players 9U & Older must sign up for the waitlist.


    Players on the waitlist will be invited to complete registration & payment if a spot is available for them.


    Notes: Spring-only roster spots might not be available for all age groups, and some groups will have limited spots available. 


    Roster spots on Competitive teams are subject to offers and acceptance. 

Scholarship Eligibility & Info:

Con­sis­tent with Regent's mis­sion of encour­ag­ing par­tic­i­pa­tion by all inter­ested play­ers, Regent offers schol­ar­ships to all qual­i­fied families through the Robin Carre Scholarship Fund in an effort to reduce financial barriers.

Who Qualifies for Assistance?

  • Families who receive MMSD Free or Reduced Lunch
  • The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) free/reduced hot lunch criteria changes each year and can be found on the MMSD website.
  • Families who have extenuating circumstances

Regent uses both the information provided in this application AND the MMSD Free or Reduced Lunch program guidelines to determine scholarship eligibility and award amounts.


Scholarship Details:

  • Full and Partial scholarships are available.
  • Scholarships will cover some or all of the following fees:
  • Online registration fee**
  • Uniforms (may only be awarded every 2 years)
  • Referee fees (9U & older teams)
  • Coaching fees (MAYSA 9/10, Gold & Blue)
  • Tournament fees (MAYSA 9/10 & Blue, Gold if applicable)
  • We ask the parent/guardian to write a brief note explain­ing their request for assistance.
  • All requests are kept confidential, however some information may be shared with a recipient's coach and/or manager if necessary.

**Most scholarship recipients will be required to pay an acceptance fee to register, regardless of whether a full scholarship is awarded. If you want the acceptance fee waived, you must request it in the application BEFORE registering your player.


Financial assistance is not automatically renewed each year. An application for assistance must be completed annually.

** IMPORTANT SCHOLARSHIP INFO FOR THE UPCOMING 2025/26 PLAYING YEAR **

🔊 The scholarship application for the 2025/26 playing year opens on May 1st.

**Exception: HS Boys must submit a completed application by November 28th


We strongly encourage families to apply as early as possible to ensure timely processing and avoid delays with registration.

you will be required to pay in full at registration.

Please also note:

  • Late fees begin on July 1st for all registrations (exception: HS boys - late fees begin mid-December)
